The Minstrel Players Announce Spring 2003 Production
The Minstrel Players Theater Company of Northport, Long Island's most
exciting theatrical group, prepares for another performance at the Trinity
Episcopal Church, 130 Main Street in scenic Northport Village. They are
following their highly acclaimed staging of "The Man Who Came To
Dinner" this past February. Next up for the Minstrels is the sequel
to Tim Kelly's hilarious murder-mystery/comedy, "The Butler Did
It", entitled "The Butler Did It, Again!" The Minstrels
successfully staged "The Butler Did It" last Spring. This
production will run Saturdays, June 14th, 21st & 28th at 8:00 P.M. and
Sundays, June 15th, 22nd & 29th at 3:00 P.M. The Saturday June 21st
show will be a specially priced Dinner Theatre production.
"The Butler Did It, Again" is directed by Minstrel founding
member, Ray Palen, and features a cast of returning "Butler"
players in addition to some fresh faces: Roseann Baldanza (Sr. White),
Eileen Der Aris (Jane Doe), Peter Guarascio (Louie Fan), Karen Keenan
(Ruth Dice), John Lucas (Chips), Jennifer McCue (Linda Hayes), Karen
Palen-Ottomano (Miss Maple), Ann Rothstein (Mrs. Danvers), Jim Thomas
(Tony Tallchief), Kevin Vincent (Chandler Marlowe), Tom Williams (Rick
Carlyle) and Dawn Marie Wood (Laura Carlyle). Keeping everyone in line is
the Assistant Director/House Manager and co-founding member, Debbie Palen.
Ray and Debbie Palen are Northport residents and are very excited at the
opportunity to bring quality theater to the Northport area.
"The Butler Did It, Again" features characterizations of some of
the most famous fictional detectives/writers of all time: Charlie Chan,
Phillip Marlowe, Nick and Nora Charles and even Anne Rice, among others.
The eccentric Miss Maple invites the authors to Spanish Moss (a haunted
mansion in the swamps of Louisiana) for the weekend. Miss Maple insists
that the authors all spend the weekend as their "fictional
creations". Throw in a tropical storm, man-eating alligator and an
actual murder and you have the makings for a wild weekend! The show has
many twists and turns that will keep the audience guessing!
The Minstrel Players are committed to bringing high quality, affordable
theater to the Long Island Region. Tickets are $12.00 each and $10.00 for
Seniors (Sunday performances only). Opening Night tickets are specially
priced at $10.00 each. The Dinner Theatre show is priced at $25. For more
information please call (631)754-4246 or visit the Minstrel Player’s
official website at www.minstrelplayers.org . Hope to see you at the show!
