THE MINSTREL PLAYERS PRESENT NEIL SIMON'S COMEDY "GOD'S FAVORITE" 

DIRECTED BY TOM WILLIAMS AT HOUGHTON HALL THEATRE.

The Minstrel Players Theatre Company of Northport prepare for their summer production of Neil Simon's comedy "God's Favorite". Performances begin on August 4th and run through August 12th at Houghton Hall Theatre at Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 Main Street in scenic Northport Village. Performances will take place on Saturdays August 4th & 11th at 8 P.M. and Sundays, August 5th & 12th at 3 P.M. 

"God's Favorite" marks the Minstrel Players return to comedy and the directorial return of Tom Williams (who directed last fall's production of "Frankenstein"). The cast features some of Long Island's wonderful talent pool of Minstrel veterans as well as newcomers: Phil Gellis (Joe Benjamin), Ray Palen (Sidney Lipton), Karen Ottomano (Rose Benjamin), Keith Junas (David Benjamin), Brian C. Cornelius (Ben Benjamin), Jennifer Dallari Chirles (Sarah Benjamin), Roseann Baldanza (Mady), and Larry Boddy (Morris). All performances are rehearsed in Northport where the cast and crew gets to frequent all of the shops and restaurants that Northport has to offer. "God's Favorite" debuted on Broadway in 1974 and starred the late-great actors, Vincent Gardenia and Charles Nelson Reilly. The play is Neil Simon's comic re-telling of the story of Job from the Bible - relocated to a mansion in Oyster Bay, Long Island. With Simon's famous wit and snappy dialogue, the treatment turns out to be quite a funny farce with a deep message for all to take away with them.

The Minstrel Players are committed to bringing "World Class", affordable theater to the Long Island Region. Tickets are $15.00 each and $12.00 for Seniors/Children under 12.
