The Minstrel Players Announce Winter 2004 Production

The Minstrel Players Theater Company of Northport, Long Island's most exciting theatrical group, prepares for another performance at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 Main Street in scenic Northport Village. They are following their highly acclaimed staging of "The Uninvited" this past November. Next up for the Minstrels is a staging of Neil Simon's classic comedy, "The Odd Couple". This production will run Saturdays, February 28th, March 6th & 13th at 8:00 P.M. and Sundays, February 29th, March 7th & 14th at 3:00 P.M. The Saturday, March 6th show will be a specially priced Dinner Theatre production.

"The Odd Couple" is directed by Minstrel founding member, Tara Lawrence, and features a cast of regular Minstrel Players: Ray Palen (Felix Unger), John Lucas (Oscar Madison), Rick Mohr (Murray the Cop), Jef. Lawrence (Vinnie), Peter Guarascio (Roy), Dennis Dudley (Speed), Karen Keenan (Cecily Pigeon) and Karen Palen-Ottomano (Gwendolyn Pigeon). Keeping everyone in line is the Assistant Director/House Manager and co-founding member, Debbie Palen. Ray and Debbie Palen are Northport residents and are excited at the opportunity at continuing to bring quality theater to the Northport area. 

"The Odd Couple" follows the exploits of the neurotic and ultra-neat, Felix Unger, and his long-time friend, unreliable and sloppy Oscar Madison. The two separated pals become roommates and proceed to constantly get on each other's nerves - proving in hysterical fashion that opposites do not always attract! This puts a big crimp in the weekly poker game with pals Murray, Vinnie, Roy and Speed. Throw a pair of single British women (Cecily and Gwendolyn Pigeon) into the mix as potential "suitors" and you have the makings for one hilarious evening. Neil Simon is at his wittiest and most sarcastic in this classic comedy that has seen success in stage, screen and television versions. The Minstrel Players production should prove to make for a fun time as they stage the tale of these two polar-opposite NYC roommates!
