THE MINSTREL PLAYERS ANNOUNCE THEIR SUMMER 2009 PRODUCTION!

The Minstrel Players Theatre Company of Northport Village continues their 2009 Season with a Summer production of Neil Simon's "The Odd Couple (Female Version)". They are coming off their critically acclaimed Spring staging of Agatha Christie's "The Hollow". The Minstrel Players successfully staged the ‘male' version of "The Odd Couple" back in 2003 and now take a shot at the even funnier ‘female' version! Performances will be over two weekends only on Saturday, July 25th and August 1st at 8 P.M. and Sunday, 3 P.M. matinee performances on July 26th and August 2nd at Houghton Hall - Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 Main Street in scenic Northport Village. 

The production of this comic classic is directed by Debbie Palen and the cast contains returning Minstrels: Stephanie M. Augustin, Roseann Baldanza, Jennifer Chirles, Karen Ottomano, Ray Palen and Tara Palen as well as a few newcomers making their Minstrel stage debuts: Demetria Frohn and Lou Lentino. "The Odd Couple (Female Version)" follows the story of two close friends - Olivia Madison and Florence Unger - who are both recently divorced and now find themselves as unlikely roommates. With one being extremely messy and the other fastidiously neat --- the comedy of errors that abounds from this pairing is nothing short of hilarious. Throw in their weekly group of Trivial Pursuit-playing friends and a pair of wild Spanish brothers that live in their apartment building and you have the perfect mix for Neil Simon's re-invention of his classic "The Odd Couple"!
